1-C Group Work 1

Direction: Make a polite request in each of these situations:

1.  You’re finding it hard to choose the correct meanings of words used in an assigned story. Ask your friend to help you out.
2.  Ask the librarian to lend you the books in this list.
Webster’s New World Dictionary
the latest issue of Reader’s Digest
NVM Gonzalez’s The Bamboo Dancers
3.  You need information on Philippine ethnic communities. Your teacher has placed on reserve all references on the subject. Request the librarian to tell you where they are.
4.  Ask a classmate to do these things for you.
a.         lend you a newspaper
b.        explain some of the words in the headline
5.  You are cleaning the Reading Center. Ask the students to move over to the other side of the room.
